"Raised on a ranch in rural Kansas, the ranch life has been my life."

Who likes to talk about themselves.....Not me! But I feel its important that you know the people you do business with. With that being said, here's you glimpse into the Ludwig's.

Both Garret and I (Nikki) were raised on small family farms. We grew up knowing the work and hours it takes to raise livestock and crops.  That would scare most people away, but we all know those in Agriculture are a different breed.  We both attending Fort Hays State University and Garret graduated with a degree in Beef Cattle Management and Nikki in Animal Science.

We now reside in North Central Kansas. Garret works for a local feedyard and salebarn, while Nikki owns a local livestock feed, supply and western wear store (Farmers & Ranchers Outlet--check it out sometime) We wear many hats with raising our kids, tending to our "day jobs" and coming home in the evenings to tend to our own operation.

Garret's passion is cattle. He's been working to build a solid group of cows to raise and sell club calves. In 2022, we had our first online club calf sale and were very happy with the outcome. (Ludwig Cattle) I see more in our future.

With every cow herd, you have to have horses. That's what I tell Garret at least. We have a small band of broodmares that we raise colts out of and offer for sale.

Now onto something I can talk about all day....Our Kids (Sutton, Linley & Truman)  We have three wild, independent, ornery children; that do a wonderful job of making our horses and cattle "bomb proof." We wouldn't want it any other way.  Our kids are involved in every aspect of our operation. The cows have figured out that if the kids aren't in the ranger yelling for them, it means something is up. Sutton, Linley and Truman love being outdoors and working beside us.  The girls have taken bucket calves to the county fair the past couple years and love riding their horses.  Truman is all about being in the middle of everything and rides in the ranger to see "his" cows.

Agriculture is our way of life, the life we are raising our children to love.
